THORHILD ALBERTA

JUNE 29-July 6

What's this?

Rock Camp Alberta has operated exceptional summer music camps for Alberta youth since 2009. The program is designed for participants to hone their ensemble and performance skills in an intensive setting. Participants receive superior instruction on their individual instruments, rehearse in bands, produce recordings, and perform in an ultimate rock show on the final day of camp. RCA 2024 will again follow an intensive weeklong overnight format this summer.

*Note: High School credits will be offered for the program this year to eligible students.

Who can play?

Registration is open to students age 13-19 who have a minimum of 2 years of playing experience on their chosen instrument. Students with less experience may be eligible, based on skills demonstrated at time of audition. Primary instruments include: Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Keyboards, and Vocalist.

*Students may also register with a secondary instrument to increase their chances of securing a spot for summer 2024.

Where's this?

RCA has hosted many day camps in schools and as a residency program at the Palisades in Jasper AB.  In July 2024, the camp will operate again in an intensive overnight format at Thorhild Central School one hour North of Edmonton AB.

When's this?

The 2024 camp will start on Saturday, June 29th and culminate in the Ultimate Rock Show on Saturday, July 6th.  This is an intensive camp, so participants are expected to commit to a rigorous rehearsal schedule to get the most out of this experience and put on an amazing show on the last day.

How much?

Tuition is $900 for the 7-day camp and will include intensive music instruction, the ultimate rock show experience, lodging, meals and some recreation.  Students will be asked to secure their spot with a non-refundable $250 deposit due upon completion of a successful audition.  The remaining balance may be paid in installments, with all balances due no later than 2 weeks before camp begins.

I want in, what do I do now?

To secure a spot in the BEST part of summer, complete the registration form online.  You will be contacted to arrange your audition slot. Once you have been offered a spot in the program, there will be a few things you and your parents will need to take care of, including signing a code of conduct and paying some fees.  That's it,
